 About Me

Elizabeth Chaillé is a modern/contemporary dance artist who finds passion in performing, choreographing, film-making & teaching. Her training includes modern, contemporary, creative dance, jazz, hip-hop, West African, ballet & somatic practices. Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah she began her training at a young age in creative and modern dance. She later attended Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts (SPA) under the direction of Bethany Hansen. During her time at SPA Elizabeth served as a Dance Conservatory member as a dancer & choreographer. She performed in school musicals and multiple dance productions. Throughout the 3 years at SPA Elizabeth studied modern techniques such as; Limón, Isadora Duncan, Graham, somatic practice, & bartenieff fundamentals. Her jazz training started at SPA where she was introduced to Giordano technique, hip-hop, jazz fusion & more. While in high school Elizabeth started a small tuition free dance studio in her home for neighborhood kids to attend, which sparked her passion for teaching. Though she had the studio for a short time she was able to teach over 20 students and produce a spring showcase before ending the studio.

In 2018 Elizabeth pursued her dance passion by moving to Baltimore, Maryland to attend the Peabody Conservatory at the Johns Hopkins University, making her a part of the inaugural class of BFA, dancers to graduate from Peabody. Her time at Peabody was spent exploring many different techniques in modern, jazz, & ballet. This included techniques in Muller, Counter Technique, somatic practices, contemporary, Gaga, West African, hip-hop, entertainment jazz & much more. Elizabeth also took courses in critical dance studies, pedagogy, improvisation, choreography & screen dance to name a few. Over the 4 years spent at Peabody Elizabeth performed in multiple concerts, set many choreographic works for the stage & film, & was able to do many collaborations with different musicians on campus for performances. Being at Peabody Elizabeth was given many opportunities to challenge herself as an artist in all different ways. She has choreographed for a Johns Hopkins a cappella group & co-choreographed an originally musical Senior Year is Gonna Kill Me!.While being able to push herself both choreographically and performatively, she directed & produced an evening length work entitled Victim a dance film based on the effects of child abuse. In spring of 2022 Elizabeth graduated with the BFA, in dance & moved back to Salt Lake City, Utah.

Her time in Utah was spent dancing professionally, teaching & choreographing. Elizabeth has had the opportunity to dance for several Utah based companies to launch her professional career. Right out of college Elizabeth started dancing with Altitude Dance Company & Allure Creative. Both companies she danced with for 2 seasons and had the opportunity to be a company choreographer during her first season with Allure Creative. In 2023 she began doing project based works, including doing a show with Fem Dance and other smaller projects throughout the year. Also 2023 Elizabeth was invited to be a company member with Wasatch Contemporary, where she performed with them for 2 seasons.

While busy performing, Elizabeth still had opportunities to teach guest classes in high schools & was on faculty at The Covey Center for Arts & Jennifer Hansen Premier Dance. Elizabeth choreographed works on Provo High School & Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts Dance Conservatory & Jazz 2 dance class. And when she had time, created a few small works herself.

Elizabeth’s passion for dance started at a young age & her goal as a professional dancer to share it with everyone. She believes that art is a way for humanity to heal, learn from others & connect with each other. She has dreams of starting her own professional dance company & opening an arts building to have a community based dance studio & a space for other artists to share their works. As she continues to perform, teach & choreograph Elizabeth will alway set aside to spend time with family, friends, play board games, travel, bullet journal & pursuer her second passion for fitness.
